I think there is serious value to be unlocked in those partnerships if we take it one step further. Media companies could provide both human resources for the more mundane tasks of start up life as well as insights into the media companies data on it's customers that could help the start-up really get traction towards some very specific audiences. Overall, I think we tend to think of these things in too narrow terms and thus they become way to easy to dismiss as just another hopeful idea from challenged incumbents.

There is no problem if large media companies will extend their mentorship to newbies in digital startup media and emerging media. We should always keep on our mind that we should help these newbies for them to grow and to succeed in the business world.
